Is it just me or is there something really odd about getting an email from Harvard Medical School with a pitch around getting in shape for summer????

We're not trying to be Glamour. At the same time, we're not trying to hide in an ivory tower. This is a time of year when people pay attention to their body -- what's known as a teachable moment. Check out at a supermarket or turn on the TV and you're bombarded with messages about exercise and weight loss products that can range from wishful thinking to dangerous.
We want to offer a practical, trustworthy alternative for those who want to take action but don't trust the commercial hype.
I think that's an appropriate activity for Harvard Medical School.

Oh KUDOS Ed & Harvard! And thank you for weighing in and with such solid logic behind the initative. Indeed, considered in this light you are absolutely right. So surprising perhaps, but in alignment with the needs of our times. So aside from the long delay in my response, vive le internet for facilitating this interchange!
